FORENSIC PHOTO BOOT CAMP

Crime Scene & Forensic Photography I

The boot camp is the first part of the FORENSIC PHOTOGRAPHY series. It is considered level 1 and the prerequisite for other intermediate and advanced forensic photography classes.

If you are a Crime Scene Investigator, Detective, Crash Investigator, Medical Examiner, SANE Nurse or anyone responsible for taking photographs for court purposes, you need this course.

Photography is an integral part of what you do. Your camera is a part of every task. If you do not demonstrate mastery of the one piece of equipment that is a part of your every task, why should the jury believe you are competent in complex tasks you perform only occasionally?

Whatever your current skill level, your images will improve with this training!

Crime Scene & Forensic Photography II

Learn the critical skills to make your images worthy of publication. While it is not a prerequisite, this course builds upon the basic skills learned in Level I. If you have a basic understanding of photography, this class will push your forensic imaging to the next level.

TOPICS INCLUDE:

ALTERNATE LIGHT SOURCE IMAGING - Contrast is king. Learn to maximize it with proper wavelength & filtration.

ADVANCED LIGHTING TECHNIQUES - Dark-field, oblique, diffused, transmitted and axial lighting will make your evidence photos worthy of publication.

BLOOD ENHANCEMENT REAGENTS - Luminol, Leuco Crystal Violet & Fluorescein each present photographic challenges. We’ll make it easy for you.

SHOOTING EVENTS - Reconstruction experts rely on your images. Learn the proper way to document flight paths & defects for reconstruction use.

MACRO, STUDIO & EVIDENCE PHOTOGRAPHY - Making small worlds bigger presents both technical and creative challenges. Proper focus, depth of field, lighting & composition make evidence photographs exemplary.

PHOTOGRAPHY for the FORENSIC NURSE

Are you confident in your forensic nursing skills? Your patient needs you.

Sexual assaults are among the most challenging cases in modern jurisprudence. As a medical professional, the forensic nurse must discover, document and collect the evidence necessary to seek justice. If you don’t properly document the evidence, how will the jury see it?

At the same time, the victim must be protected from further physical and emotional harm. The burden of the forensic nurse is to accomplish both.

We’ll give you the information you need to properly document injuries and evidence. Go beyond academics. These are experienced professionals, teaching real case-work.

Crime Scene RECONSTRUCTION

Reconstruction work builds upon a solid foundation of well conducted field work. Putting it all together with thorough analysis is critical to discovering the truth. Presenting it logically to the jury is critical to making the truth understood.

Today's juries are very demanding. They expect to be presented with comprehensive analysis & professional reconstructions that they can understand and evaluate.

Only the most skillful presentation of sound logic, based upon clear and convincing facts will satisfy the high expectations of the jury, and the legal requirements of the criminal justice system.

Latent Fingerprint

CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION

The science is settled regarding the most widely used forensic processes. From DNA to fingerprints, the courts have recognized the science behind the evidence as valid and reliable.

The weak link is now the forensic operator. The processes must be conducted with great skill, consistency and precision. We teach the rock-solid methodologies that will get your evidence before the jury.

This professional development course is designed to provide substantive instruction on the topic of forensic evidence related to criminal and civil matters involving the use of firearms. Shooting events are among the most challenging cases in modern jurisprudence. If the lawyers don’t understand it, how can they be sure the jury does?

A complex mix of art and science must be skillfully distilled into a convincing message that the jury can understand. This course goes beyond the academics to provide the student with the information needed to find a reliable expert witness, or properly cross examine the other side.

EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF: This immersive learning experience is enhanced through live fire demonstrations and student participation in live fire exercises under the friendly guidance of our expert instructors.
